The Piccolo model I purchased is manually operated. It doesn't have any sort of timers or programmable functions just hot or cold I suspect that the water tank is a bit small for multiple drink making facility. You maybe able to download a manual or find out more from the Nescafe Dolce Gusto website.

Simple answer is no! You can use any milk, or indeed cream or simular. Would only suggest that milk is heated in a microwave, or stove, as coffee pods do not come out boiling hot! By using your own milk, you get 16 cups in a box, instead of only 8 when milk capules are provided. Hope this helps.

Sorry I don't use the milk pods, just the Americano coffee and then put milk or cream in. I think the pods have powdered milk in, so I was disappointed when I checked the ingredients and didn't want use them.
