Difficult to say as we only use the light as we need it. So far it has lasted at least 4-5 hours, and still gives a good light. We have not installed the light and use it around the house where it is difficult to see ie under the stairs.

I don't think it would I think it would throw shadows unless you get really close.we have used ours outside over a food prep area in our hen house, they are stuck in situation or I would have tried it for you but I can't get them off. They do angle for a directional shine. LED lights do not have conventional bulbs the LEDs last for years I have no idea if it would suit your needs I am a mere male but it certainly works well to light my food cupboard. For that use I expect the batteries to last for at least a year and the LEDs for at least 10 years

It has sticky pads. If you are buying this for brightness then its probably not for you but it is good value. Hope this is helpful
