Yes, I think so. I used it for Christmas stockings which I lined. It's not a very close weave. Hope the rug turns out well.

Ive just tried it against a pink doll's box and a little colour does show but it's not really see-thro'. You couldn't make out what it was. I suppose it'll depend on the amount of colour/detail that the nappy boxes have and if you don't mind a little colour. Hope that helps.

There is no blue on any of the stuff I have ever ordered. Its smells but its not that strong in my opinion. I think it would be suitable

Yes it does, but I think all this type of material being of open weave will fray. I used for a Christmas hanging chandelier as the wrap (base background) once up there wasn't any further shedding or fraying.

depends what you intend for the rope once you've stuck it to the material. put too much strain on the rope and the fabric would tear. if its just for adornment then any strong adhesive would hold it firm.
