Answer:
YES - The Fan is on the Top with 2 heat settings 1000W and 2000W - The body/depth of the Fire stands approx 5-inchs from the wall - The curved glass is larger than the body behind so visually you only see the glass, unless you're standing directly above it: I've had mine 2-yrs now and I am very pleased with it indeed.… see more YES - The Fan is on the Top with 2 heat settings 1000W and 2000W - The body/depth of the Fire stands approx 5-inchs from the wall - The curved glass is larger than the body behind so visually you only see the glass, unless you're standing directly above it: I've had mine 2-yrs now and I am very pleased with it indeed. Previous to this one I'd bought from Argos, but needed 3 replacements because each Fire was hideously noisy when the flame effect was on, so in the end had a refund. Now this particular Fire you're asking about I really recommend it's a nice size, with a smashing flame effect, good fan blowing from the top, and lovely looking curved glass. Although personally, I do not need to use either of the 2-fan setting because I have storage heaters, but most certainly I've put them to the test, and the heat emitted seems very good to me. If you have any further questions, just ask. Good Luck! see less

Answer:
Hi Alan, I chopped some off as it was too long, (I had the socket moved up to try hide wire behind the fire, there isn't room behind it to do this so socket still visible) sorry I can't remember how much I chopped off, I've just measured what's remaining and its 140cm. Hope this helps.

Answer:
All the heat comes out the top, I have a mirror 500mm above mine and the bottom gets very warm.
If you have it in a fireplace surround above it that should deflect heat away from TV
