Hello, I bought this item on behalf of one of my grown up children,and bought the three year warranty with it,one year as standard. Strong advice;do not buy or accept the HDT 8530,made by Sagem,lifeless picture and cheap construction.
I bought the same model from new and have not had any faults with it at all,it has a really robust Seagate hard drive as standard with a MTBF of,they claim,1000,000 hours.
The only issue I have with it is that Pace,who made this unit for Philips,refused to offer the Easylink update (HDMI CEC) so its's just like all the rest in this respect.
But you won't find a better picture.
