Answer:
The modem lacks any wireless capabilities and should not be used to replace a wireless hub. It will also not work on any fibre broadband service. For adsl broadband services, this would usually be used in conjunction with a wireless router in bridge mode and having the router providing the wireless capabilities.

Answer:
Hello Michael
If the TalkTalk broadband is ADSL2+ or below it will be fine. It will not work with FTTC (Fibre To The Curb) or Virgin cable broadband. In a nut shell it will work with broadband with a download speed up to 24mbps, not the up to 40mbps to 150mbps variety, for that you would need the Draytek Vigor 130.

Hi Marcus,
I use one of these Vigor modems with my BT line and it works fine. However it is not a router, what are you connecting it to? It doesn't do the same job as your BT hub and would need to be connected to a device which handles broadband authentication such as a firewall.

As for your BT hub, if its a hub 3 I also had problems and had to keep restarting it once a day, this is fixed with a firmware update. see less

However, I did have to change a few settings in the Vigor 120 to get it working. Remember, the Vigor 120 is just feeding a raw connection to the router and it is the router that handles your username/password for your broadband connection etc. To check the Vigor 120 settings connect it directly to your network card on your PC/Laptop by typing in http://192.168.2.1 to a web browser. You shouldn't need to change much/anything but check everything just in case. Make sure your router is setup for PPPoE and that it is only a router without a built in modem as this can cause issues. I have had my Vigor 120 for years and never had any issues or drop outs. In my opinion it is a first class modem. The key here is to understand your equipment and set it up properly. Drop outs are usually caused by noise on the line which could be faulty wiring inside or just outside of your house or you haven't configured things properly. see less

Answer:
No, it takes an RJ11 input and outputs that as a single Ethernet to go into a router.
