My blanket stopped working after 18 months and I tried to return it but the request has been denied - so I wouldn't trust this so-called two year guarantee.

There is a box on the top left hand side or bottom right , depends how you place it.
It all depends where your mains socket is located.
Ours is top left and is just under the pillow. Can't be felt.… see more

I have never used an electric blanket with an extension lead but can't see why it wouldn't be safe unless you overloaded the extension itself.

There are 3 heat settings. I usually put it on 3(highest) 1/2hr before bed and lower it for a bit if really cold otherwise it will go off for the night. I have been very pleased with this so far.
