I connect my I pod to my laptop by usb then sync it from my itunes. Hopefully this helps

N is the simple answer. However, I purchased my IPod over 12 months ago, so cannot say if they do this nowadays. It may be wise to pop into somewhere like Currys or Argos and enquire there, as they sell these items too. Hope this is of assistance to you. Chris r.

Hi there, if you have portable speakers which are wired (as in they use a 35mm stereo jack) then yes, as you just plug this jack into the earphones port and away you go.
If however you have a bluetooth wireless speaker then the ipod shuffle won't be able to play music through that as it has no Bluetooth feature to be able to pair with such eternal devices.
However!...if your bluetooth wireless speaker has an aux/audio/line-in port (as my ANKER 87908 does) then you can use a cable with a 35mm stereo jack at either end and this will work (one 35mm jack in the ipod shuffle earphone port the other 35mm jack into the speaker aux/audioline-in port).

I am unsure but it definitely works with previous Windows applications. I cannot see that it would be any different. As a precaution, I download my music through ITunes via my computer. Hope this helps.
