If you want decorate mugs with sharpies you need the oil based ones not these. Oil based sharpie decorated ceramics need to be baked for at least 30 mins at 350 F

For chalkboard, you would need Sharpie paint markers or Sharpie Metallic markers, they work best on dark surfaces. This set is for Sharpie standard permanent markers, they can write on dark surfaces but colour will be very dull or hardly to see.

I think not. Sharpies are supposed to write on most things but they didn't write on trainers or even plates very well!

It's quite light so I don't think it will mark on wood. It works well on cardboard and some plastics material but I'm not sure it will work on wood. Sorry if it's not really of help!
