on the left hand side, there is a space for a bolt (provided). Assemble BBQ, then put in grill and bolt it (loose fitting). The grill can then move out or in. We have removed the grill and just use it as a fire/heat source. Hope this helps!

This is a chiminea patio heater first, barbecue grill second. Charcoal would burn hotter than wood, and that is likely to make the cast iron rust quicker than it would using wood.
