The camera power is part of the extension cable and as such the power source does not have to be near the nest box. Since the connection between the power cable and the TV connectors are fairly close it does mean you have to have a power source close to the TV but that is not really a problem. Since the connection between the power cable and the TV connectors are fairly close it does mean you have to have a power source close to the TV but that is not really a problem. The only other problem I have had is running it into the house. Since the connectors are quite large I couldn't really feed them through a small hole in the wall and have had to have them fed through an open window instead. Again not really a problem since it will only be when , and if, the birds start nesting and not throughout the year. As yet bI haven't seen any birds showing interest in the nest box. Fingers crossed! see less

I'm pretty sure you could but maybe it would be cheaper just to buy a camera.

A drill bit not more than a quarter inch diameter should do its only the power lead that goes through the wall or window frame the other parts go to the nest box and the av inputs on your TV ..

I am not a technician but in my opinion, Firstly was it a colour camera or black and white, if it was colour then it is obviously faulty.
