No. It is in one piece, but completely non-stick and superb quality, ideal for baking angel food cake. My daughters are envious, and borrow it a lot!!! I'n confused to see the other reply, as mine is definitely one-piece. Hope this helps.

A simple fruit cake comes out ok but for a really heavy fruit cake a heavier tin would be ideal because of the long baking times

yes - the bottom of the pan, (with the tube part) lifts out of the outer ring.
