Don't need to buy anything extra for this machine. Chuck the beans in the top and water in the container and off you go...

Hello Edward! no filters in this particular model - we have very hard water - so when 'commissioning' the machine before beginning to use it - there are some 'strips' to dip in your tap water to ascertain how hard your water is, so you can set it up correctly - the DeLonghi descaler is very good and costs £10 for 4… see more Hello Edward! no filters in this particular model - we have very hard water - so when 'commissioning' the machine before beginning to use it - there are some 'strips' to dip in your tap water to ascertain how hard your water is, so you can set it up correctly - the DeLonghi descaler is very good and costs £10 for 4 applications - I'm finding it's prompting me to descale every 21-23 days - & I use what comes through the machine to descale my kettle as well! it's taking me about 40 minutes to go through the descale programme but think only 30 mins when I'm used to doing it - the Jura cleaning products were very expensive and the filters alone were £32 for 3 !!! I really love this machine - perhaps not in the 'Barrista (not spelt right!) class' but adequate for home use! & who knows for the price maybe it won't have a fantastically long life - on average (without guests) we make approx. 12 cups a day - hope this helps - kind Regards - Alex G. see less Hello Edward! no filters in this particular model - we have very hard water - so when 'commissioning' the machine before beginning to use it - there are some 'strips' to dip in your tap water to ascertain how hard your water is, so you can set it up correctly - the DeLonghi descaler is very good and costs £10 for 4 applications - I'm finding it's prompting me to descale every 21-23 days - & I use what comes through the machine to descale my kettle as well! it's taking me about 40 minutes to go through the descale programme but think only 30 mins when I'm used to doing it - the Jura cleaning products were very expensive and the filters alone were £32 for 3 !!! No, there are no filters to change in this coffee machine. May I also say that it is our most pleasing/best value purchase of anything for a long time. It is so simple to use/clean etc and also easy to obtain whatever strength/mix of coffee you want. Lots of settings to try. Brilliant.
