There are ways to play R2TW on mac via STEAM, look on youtubedotcom for tutorials (normally the back of the game case will show what operating systems can run it). Go to Apple > About this Mac > More information and you should see what graphics card you have, check it against the minimum system requirements for the game.
I would personally recommend the first (RomeTW) which has a lower graphic requirement and is generally a superior game (in my opinion), read the reviews carefully for this instalment as it is very different to its predecessor and requires STEAM to run. Again, Medieval2TW is also an excellent game, and personally my second favourite behind Rome TW.
I haven't tried Shogun 2 on mac, both Rome and Empire are playable on my ~2010 macbook pro. Empire is actually very enjoyable once you get used to the greatly changed mechanics with naval battles being an absolute blast. Rome and Empire are both available through the appstore in case you haven't checked.
