Does this need to be plugged to the wall and/or plugged to the device? Basically I would like to have this in my pocket while using a tablet ?

Well it needs to be powered off a USB port (as found on most PCs and some USB wall chargers - but not tablets). If you want something that has it's own power look at the mifi devices - many are a similar cost and have an inboard battery.

You will have to plug this into a USB plug or USB slot in a computer.

To provide power for the E355 to work, there needs to be standard USB voltage - this can be provided by a PC / laptop / netbook USB port or a mains USB charger. it won't work in your pocket unless your pocket happens to have a live 5v USB female socket! ;-)

Yes it does need a usb power supply, either from your computer or from a usb power supply plugged into the wall or other similar supply. There are battery usb power supply units but that's just one more thing to carry.

This device needs to be plugged into a standard USB power supply, I use either a wall charger of a socket on my laptop. If you want it in your pocket it may work with one of the USB power packs you can buy for boosting the charge on a phone or tablet etc... but I havn't tried this.
I hope that's of dome help.

It does need power to it to operate so essentially you'll need to plug it in to a socket or your device.

Or I guess you could use an External Portable Battery Charger / USB Power Bank connected to the E355 in your pocket.
