Format: Audio CD
although originally a compilation of leftovers at the time this was a real album and none of these tracks were elsewhere to find. It was then released, after the band switched recordlabels and first Sssssh came out Alll this changed decades later, with the rerelease of the first 3 TYA albums on the Decca label, with all kinds of bonusmaterial, which make almost all of these songs available again in their original setting, i.e. regrouped to the recordingsessions. With one exception though, the live performed Standing At The Crossroads is not on any of those CD's, so completists who want ALL of the stuff have to obtain this album anyway. But for those who are satisfied with the extra songs on the earlier records they can stay with them and don't have to complain about missing of one track only. Besides, in 2015 a new release of the first album with plenty of extras has seen the daylight and so has Stonehenge. But if you want a good rocking album, with a fine mixture of jazz, blues and rock, be sure to buy this album and let the old days relive again. Alvin Lee sadly have passed away, he was not only a solid and fast guitarplayer, but a great singer/songwriter. Almost every song in the early TYA catalogue was written by him alone. He could easyly write a popsong, a ballad, a blues song, hard rock, and anything else, with a lot of melody in it. In Rick Lee on drums, Leo Lyons on bass and Chuck Churchill on keyboards he had one of the finest bandmembers possible, in the studio and on stage. As such the aptly titled Alvn Lee & Company is a fitting testament to their talents and music..
