It's so sharp, it makes peeling pleasurable, really!
The handle is comfortable and well shaped, putting the blade in the right position on the veg. The 'eye' or bad spot remover is very efficient and easy to turn in a potato, leaving small, neat holes deep enough to remove all of the 'eye', unlike other peelers I have used.
I think with peelers it is hard to change from the style one is accustomed to as we each seem to develop very individual techniques. Mine is an away from me 'whittling style, which is limits a peelers usefulness to carrot shaped veg and larger potatoes. I grew up with a swivel peeler, the old bent metal handled type.I had my last one from when my mother gave it to me when I left home twenty something years ago. I believe the double bladed design is to ensure suitability for both right and left handed people, however I have found a new (to me) technique using this new peeler that my old one was NEVER sharp enough to allow. I can use this peeler towards and away from me making it much easier to use on smaller potatoes and awkward shapes.
I highly recomend this peeler and just getting a new peeler if yours is old

Spend your money on one of these.
and think of how you're going to spend all that precious time that it's just created by you not having to be as long stooped over that darned sink!
LIFE IS FOR LIVING NOT FOR PEELING!
I've been using this peeler for a few weeks now, and have peeled potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips and cooking apples with it. As you'd expect it handled them all with aplomb; it is good for getting into the knobbles of sweet potatoes especially.
Potato peelers are probably quite a subjective purchase. I was brought up with my parents' type which was a Lancashire Peeler. I've always liked the control these provide, with their fixed blades, but admit that they do tend to take off thicker peelings than I'd prefer. And my favourite type of peeler see here for example is actually the type where the blade runs perpendicular to the handle, as this allows me to hold the veg at a distance and then sweep the peeler down it. I've never thought of my peeling habits before this review!
Overall then, the Zyliss is a good, effective peeler, appears to be of a good build quality and looks and feels great to use; I'm happy to recommend it.
This peeler is incredibly sharp, my old peeler is a couple of years old and I didn't realise how blunt it was until I used this and found peeling was noticeably easier and quicker. It has a pointed cylindrical part too for cutting and scooping out bad bits and potato 'eyes'. Again, this is sharp and very effective, this is the first time I've enjoyed gouging eyes out. This is quit big, but that large handle makes it comfortable in the hand and I imagine it could help those with a weak grip as you can hold it more firmly and with more of the actual hand.
In a nutshell: It may cost more than a budget veg peeler, but it's still a decent price and perfect for the task.

Very poor - doesn't peel a carrot without a lot of scraping!Published 7 days ago by Amazon Customer
Very good peeler that was purchased as a replacement of an old Zylis peeler. The handle has got wider which has took some getting used to but still peels and eyes as good as ever. Read morePublished 1 month ago by lemon zest
Have this peeler about 10 years and it's been great. The blade seems to have suddenly lost sharpness or moves a little so it's not as easy to use now. Read morePublished 2 months ago by D. M. O' Meara
At last, a peeler that actually works! Cuts nice thin strips so you don't loose half half your veg. All my other peelers are destined for the back of the drawer.Published 5 months ago by margaret r spooner
It works well but I find because it is slightly curved, it doesn't always peel as well as I would like. the gouger tool at the end is excellentPublished 5 months ago by Mrs K
