The game itself has multiple modes and levels to choose from. To begin with you set up your own profile on the game and some people may choose to complete the training exercises but this is optional (which basically shows you the progressive style of each dance while giving you trophies for completion). There are 3 levels of difficulty in the game which are relatively easy to progress in.
Completing dances will unlock new game modes and backgrounds to dance in such as 'factory' and 'rooftop' ect.
I lost a stone with this game in a month as part of a healthy diet. However, the reason I have given the game 4 stars are the following; the belt was at times very temperamental and won't always detect your movements. It is not exactly programmed for the movements shown but more for 'the more movement, the better' so at times when the instructor is on the screen and just doing some stretches, it won't detect your movement (unless you shake around!).
Secondly, the multiplayer is practically non existent. There are very few people who play this game and less than that who play the multiplayer making the trophies for multiplayer more or less impossible. Not such a problem if you aren't bothered about trophies but a minor inconvenience if you are.
Thirdly, at first glance I was extremely excited at the sheer amount of variation you seemed to have with the dances. Just clicking on the 'medium' setting and choosing '45 minute exercise' showed me around 7 dance routines to choose from. Being someone that gets bored easily of repetitive exercise I was over joyed about this. However when I explored these '7' I found that they were the same routines but simply the order of the dances switched. So if you become bored and want to step things up or fancy a change then you may tire easily of this game.
Over all this game is fun and will help you lose weight as part of a healthy diet. The songs are pretty good and will get stuck in your head! The dance routines are easy to remember and you will soon find yourself dancing along like a pro.
I would recommend this game for someone that needs a little kick start into a routine of exercise and doesn't want the regular squats and jogs to begin with. It's a nice starting place but simply isn't challenging enough once you have completed the repetitive routines and are into a regular exercise pattern.
Hope this helps, feel free to ask me any questions of things aren't clear!
I found the male dance teacher very annoying and it was difficult to tell how well I was doing (did not like the multi coloured instructor - why aren't they just a normal colour?). I did not even get mildly out of breath - and this is on the expert class! The songs were very forgettable as were the dance moves. Maybe this game would be ok for complete beginners? I'm not sure.
I won't be trying this game again - much prefer "Just Dance" - much more fun, better selection of games and more of a work out too.
