Product description
Dying Light is a first-person, action survival horror game set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, players traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population. At night, the hunter becomes the hunted, as the infected become aggressive and more dangerous. Most frightening are the predators which only appear after sundown. Players must use everything in their power to survive until the morning’s first light.
KEY FEATURES
- Survive the Night - During the day, players roam free and scavenge for supplies and weapons. But at night, the world undergoes a deadly transformation: the hunter becomes the hunted as the infected grow more aggressive and numerous, and something far more sinister awakens to stalk its prey.
- Free Running Movement - Whether tracking prey or escaping predators, Dying Light lets players swiftly navigate the world by seamlessly leaping between buildings, grappling up walls and pouncing on unsuspecting enemies.
- Open World Environments - Dying Light is set in a vast open world, delivering expansive and varied environments, a wide variety of enemy classes and a hopeless tale of survival where resources are scarce and the infected are not the only threat.
- Brutal Melee and Ranged Combat - get up-close using a variety of light and heavy weapons including knives, bats, axes, sledgehammers and more exotic weaponry or utilize guns and other firepower to take down enemies from a distance.
- Choose Your Play Style - Dying Light features four playable characters that can be fully customized and upgraded to match any play style.
- Craft Your Weapon - Why use a wrench when you can use a wrench wrapped in electrified barbed wire? Dying Light's sizeable crafting system enables players to create a slew of new, more potent weapons and equipment, as well as specialized ammunition.
- Breathtaking Visuals and Gameplay - Dying Light is the first game powered by Chrome Engine 6, a cutting edge incarnation of Techland's proprietary technology, designed from the ground up for the new console generation, DirectX 11 and other advanced solutions.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 February 2015ive been eagarly awaiting this game and it delivered , a great new experience with zombies any zombie game is pretty good in my opinion i mean how can it not be ? your killing zombies thats fun in my book , but there are some things i didnt like , the element of which the weapons dont last fair enough that adds realism and by god what amazing graphics but all that dont count for nothing if you cant enjoy the fighting , i actually wish i waited for dead island 2 which i will get and hope its better than this , im afraid the parkour can be annoying , feels like the day night cycle is too quick , but heck im having fun still but wasnt as great as i thought but still not bad 7.7/10 for me
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 March 2015Whether you will enjoy Dying Light or not will come down to one simple question: Do you like zombies?
If you're not the kind of person who enjoys zombie flicks or other zombie games, chances are you won't like this, either.
However if, like me, you do like the zombie genre, this ticks all the boxes to be one of the best games made.
Free running is fun, easy and well made. It can be frustrating in the beginning and quite often I fell to my death but once you get a hang of it, its pretty seamless to run from rooftop to rooftop without losing speed.
The story isn't bad in my opinion. It's linear and I can't really go into much detail without spoiling but it kept things interesting, I thought.
The fighting is very fun and challenging at times. It has a Diablo 3 feel about "getting all the phat lewt" where there's a big appeal in finding/buying weapons and upgrading them in various ways. Random encounters and hunting for supplies for crafting from blueprints to create items like molotov's or throwing stars or strengthening upgrades for melee weapons.
Character progression is in the form of 3 skill trees: Survival which you receive XP for surviving the night, helping survivors and completing quests; Agility where XP comes from performing jumps and free-running abilities like slides or jump kicks; and Combat where XP is from dealing damage to enemies, killing them and performing combat abilities like Takedowns.
The game has a day/night cycle where day is from 5am-9pm. During the day, visibility is high and you mostly just get the mindless drone zombies which are easy to out think and defeat. When the night comes, darkness is real and you have to use your torch. Smarter, stronger and faster mutated special zombies come out and if they spot you, they will chase you. The night is very dangerous and most of the time you would want to sleep through it at safe zones. There is a benefit to trying to make it through the night and that is whenever you would normally earn xp, you earn more at night. So if you take the risks, the reward is you'll level up and gain abilities faster.
I have yet to try any co-operative. I do wish there was local co-op. Even without it, the game is still great.
For me, best zombie game I've ever played and one of the best overall, definitely in my top 25.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 March 2015No season pass included even though the seller clearly states that a season pass is included in the purchase, other than that the game is brilliant and the deliery time was on time, but still really unhappy about not receiving a season pass code.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 February 2015Great game, I purchased the edition with the season pass though, the season pass was not included with my game which is a blatant use of false advertising, not impressed with this, where is my season pass?!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 March 2015Great game. Large open world. very hard to run out of things to do. That is, of course until you finish the game and decide to try out Multiplayer.
Short answer. Nope.
When you try to access Multilayer on "Be The Zombie", you will constantly be disconnected and rejected from lobbies. This is a well known problem that the developers STILL haven't fixed, almost a month after launch. Disgusting.
Definitely buy this game, but buy a used copy. Buying new encourages this sort of activity. Half-completed games that force you to buy DLC and Season Passes to fix the problems.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 March 2015Amazing graphics, huge open world, the free running and climbing adds an extra dimension to the game. Not sure when I first played it, but after a few hours of play this game comes into its own, but be warned it has a high difficultly level in some places. A huge improvement on Dead Island.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 March 2015First off, I'm going to start with how delivery and receiving was.
I really have no option but to give 10/10 for this, I made the payment on the day before release with debit card, which dispatched minutes later. Then the game even managed to arrive to my house on release day, in time for the weekend and this postage was all free.
My season pass code was also sent the day before and worked like a charm. So I got the season pass with the game, all for just £44.99 from amazon, which works out £26 cheaper than buying the game digitally and the season pass. Amazon was the cheapest and best retailer to buy from. Well Done to Amazon!
The game, 9/10 - I never played the Dead Island games but this new franchise blew my mind, where open world, meets zombie infestation, meets parkour, meets even your highest expectations. Though Having the odd hiccup there and then like jumps and grapple hook fails and some of the story elements can be a little bland but not enough to make the game feel bad or anything, with infinite weapon crafting, multiple zombie type battles, interesting objectives and outcomes, and a be the zombie mode added to the mix for FREE, this game is a must have. There is plenty in dying light to keep any zombie enthusiast amused.
Amazon - 10/10 - Great delivery and never let down.
Overall Game - 9/10 - Fantastic game with the odd hiccup there and then, (but then nothing is perfect)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2015I get lost in this game the same way I did with the first Assassin's Creed. Still a great game that has the Mirror's Edge feel.
