Product Description

Product Description

The Zombie Dead are unleashed when a professor's thirst for knowledge seals his own demise when he unwittingly unseals a cursed underground crypt in an ancient burial ground. The desecrated graveyard errupts with a ground swell of ravenous, rotting, flesh hungry zombies that shamble into the night in search of living human prey. On the adjoining grounds, a group of clueless, decadent socialites are enjoying a wild weekend retreat of debauchery. Among the eccentric guests are a nympho mother and her freakish, incestuous son. Unfortunately for the guests, their isolated country villa lies directly in the path of the flesh eating horde that have party plans all of their own!

The Zombie Dead is one of the best horror movies ever made, period. This is an incredible zombie film, much better than anything from Lucio Fulci. The Zombie Dead is a high quality film, top class. The direction by Andrea Bianchi is excellent. Bianchi ("Strip Nude For Your Killer", "Malabimba") has done a fantastic job providing horror, agony, atmosphere and action. His direction is tremendous. The way he uses the camera is absolutely brilliant. He actually manages to put the viewer right into the movie. It's amazing, this film really scared me. It's very realistic, with excellent gore effects way better than anything i've seen. The gore, actually looks too real, i almosted puked!!!! This is a classic. (The transfer by Cornerstone Media/Beyond Terror is pretty good but not anything special)

To be honest, this film is ok. Gore is very good. Plot is non existent. Acting and dubbing is appalling. If you like Italian Horror (which I do), you will like this. One word of warning though. I got this to replace my old Vipco release as I saw better packaging. When I opened it, the DVD inside is still Vipco so certainly do not get this expecting anything different.

This film was so bad that it turns out to be good, this film is diffidently the trashiest and goriest Italian zombie film I have seen so far and one of my favorites as well, it was done in bad taste like the filmmakers did this on purpose in order to shock the audience, I'm sure it was played at the old drive in cinemas. The living dead are unleashed when a professor unwittingly unseals an underground crypt and in an attempt to tell the zombies that hes their friend well that obviously doesn't work so he gets devoured lol. The flesh hungry zombies then descend on a group of decadent socialites which includes a nymphomaniac mother and her son that clearly has issues, there are some scenes of incest that are disgusting yet unintentionally hilarious which I'm sure other reviewers have mentioned and the actor that plays the son looks like a realy short 30 year old person, most of the characters were incredibly dumb but thats part of the fun. The zombies are the same kind that appear in Lucio Fulci's Zombie only it wasn't as good as that film, they all looked decayed and rotting but some looked to weird and goofy looking with one zombie that had big teeth sticking out and they seem to be handy with a few weapons including a knife and a battering ram believe it or not. There was a lot of flesh being devoured so the gore was excellent and it also had a cool decapitation scene with a scythe. The Zombie Dead or Burial Ground was a fun and very trashy and gory zombie film that will appeal to fans of Italian horror, if you can get past the atrocious acting and bad dubbing then you will definitely enjoy this weird cult classic zombie film.
