These bags remain absolutely fantastic for sandwiches and dry goods
These were ideal for the job. You need to check the size to make sure they're big enough for what you need. They aren't massive, but these bags allow me to pour in enough sauce for 2 portions easily. I think seal and flatten them for freezing so they take up less space. Because the contents are then very thin, I've found I don't even need to get them out of the freezer in advance to defrost. If they're stuck to the contents I generally put them in the microwave for less than 10 seconds just to get the outside to let go enough to remove the contents and then either transfer the contents to a pan or a microwaveable container as appropriate.
I'm not sure if they're supposed to be re-usable, but if you get the contents out while still frozen, very little remains attached to the inside of the bag which means a quick rinse-out with hot soapy water and it seems good enough for several re-uses.
I suppose you may want to stick to storing the same type of sauce etc in them particularly if 1) you've written on the label and 2) you want to avoid an possibility of transmission of food types between bags (particularly for more pungent foods such as curry sauce).
Overall I'm very happy with these bags, and when my current batch is no longer usable will definitely be ordering some more. They seem suitably substantial and I have no worries about them ripping or getting damaged.
However I bought them to store my screws and nuts and bolts in, instead of the coffee jars of tradional storeage. Easier to see what's in the bag, packs away neater when part empty, and takes up less space. Can drop them too. I know it's not traditional, but hey, now you know!
