I was unsure what to expect from this product, I have been getting bitten to death at home and tried frontline as well as one of those foggers but still seem to have a problem. I was not disappointed. There was a little setting up, and at first I hadn't peeled the backing off the sticky disc. I am wondering if the people who said this didn't work have missed that step too...the discs are coated with a shiny laminate and there is also plastic packaging around them. I can see how it is easy to believe you have unwrapped the discs fully without actually peeling off the backing to expose the essential sticky pad. Within 10 minutes of switching this on it had caught its first flea. I left it on overnight and there were about 20 when I got up in the morning! Gross! It's one of those horrors that is so repulsive, yet you find yourself unable to stop checking it. It also seems to have brought out my sadistic streak as I find it incredibly satisfying to watch the little critters that have been lunching on me and my kitten for months stuck on their sides with their tiny legs waggling and struggling to get free....they don't stand a chance! Muhahahaha...Have left it on whilst I'm at the office today...dread to think what I'll fid when I get home! Highly recommended, just be sure you have set it up properly!

I bought this trap cautiously and read every single review. From the reviews the negatives were the build quality, the sticky paper curling with the heat of the bulb, in some cases the lack of fleas or how the poor little fleas are inhumanly meeting their death.
I have used my traps for two weeks now and feel I can share my findings.
It only takes minutes to assemble I used sticky take at the bottom to prevent the flea sheet from curling this worked a treat. I didn't find the legs it top of the trap flimsy at all just a wee bit fiddly but no hardship. I do have large rooms so each night I do put them in slightly different positions so I did use extensions for plugging them in. Within seconds of plugging one in it caught a flea over the nights the fleas kept on jumping in!
I tried alsorts of sprays etc but with the warm weather I have really got no where it was very very satisfying to see them jump in and stick completely incapacitated. Every morning I would come down and count the growing number of fleas maximum count 24 in my two week period. As for the woman that left a review saying it was a cruel way for them to die. I say off you go wench and sing lullabys to them till you bore them to death.
I have not seen a flea alive by the morning simply by the heat of the bulb they stick dehydrate or cook then die. I would rather have this trap than watch my five year old itch her feet till she bleeds and leaves her open to infection!
I have been using the traps daily for two weeks and the bulbs are still going. I have used them in the living areas and bedrooms.
I would recommend these products it won't rid you of the problem as the source (pet) needs to be treated and frontline isn't as effective anymore. These traps are to catch the stragglers living in you carpets, under furniture that even with continuous spraying and hoovering you just can't kill/catch.
Death to all fleas.......

I realised we had a problem two days after collecting my two cats from a local cattery. I regularly go over them with a fine cat flea comb (3/4 times per week) and then using an old toothbrush to deposit any fleas wedged in the comb into a shallow dish of warm water with a touch of washing up liquid. I keep an eye on the flea status so I can tackle it early before it becomes a major problem. One of my two cats reacted badly once to flea drops (major health scare) and I nearly lost him. So, I had to go as 'natural' as possible. Together with a few other things, I decided on one of these flea traps as a monitor of any further problems in the house. For this, it is excellent. For the first 24 hours...nothing. Then, on the second day I found 7 stuck to the pad. I left it two more nights in the same position... but no new arrivals. I then decided to move it along the skirting about 3 meters. I then found another several stuck fast. Then, after several nights with no more additions, I decided to push the sofa across the room and placed the lamp there......another dozen or so the next morning! I decided to treat the whole house with a supporting product. Finally, I found nothing new on the pad. I had captured a total of 43 fleas using this lamp. So, using a flea comb every other day on my cats and this lamp is like an early warning system to act early and stop an infestation in its tracks
It loses one star because you are forced (in my experience) to buy the bulbs from them. I can't get 7 watt bayonet bulbs anywhere around my area. With reference the longevity of the sticky pads....I find they remained sticky for several months.....longer than 8 weeks as suggested by manufacturer. Obviously how badly your infected will dictate the time to change one.

Fantastic product if you have children and don't want to have to use toxic sprays all over the house. The other benefit is that you can monitor how many of the little blighters you are catching whereas with the sprays you have to assume that it has worked.

Wasn't sure it was working at first but left it on over night in the lounge and caught 7. Moved it upstairs and straight away caught a few more. Excellent product for peace of mind and a peaceful nights sleep.
