Zenzoris Returns (The Sophie Radcliffe Series Book 1) by Jenny Burnley. Sophie Radcliffe is a top agent in the Intergalactic Law Enforcement Agency, feisty, with technology and computer skills that compete with even the most advanced species, not to mention a photographic memory make her the go to agent when things go wrong, and things have gone very wrong. Zenzoris, a dangers Drogg hell bent on domination of all the universes has escaped the seemingly impenetrable prison Sophie herself had devised, and boy is he angry. The destruction of Earth and Sophie priority on his agenda. By her side her partner, Tom Logan, an expert with weapons, and Justin Adams, a linguistic whose ear can crack even the most complex language in minutes. This trio now embark to return Zenzoris to his rightful imprisonment. But something about the whole thing seems off, a hooded figure is seen aided what should have been an impossible escape attempt. Who is this, and what motives so they have for freeing the most terrifying enemy the Intergalactic Law Enforcement Agency has ever encountered?

With an exciting plot and twists this is one science fiction easy to lose yourself in. It takes all the aspects of sci-fi, technology, space travel, aliens, and makes it easily accessible, central to the plot, but not all-encompassing. The story itself focuses on the events within Sophie's unit, whilst successfully creating scope and introducing aliens, their differences and a little of their culture. The characters are well-crafted, expressive and interesting. For a book that takes about an hour to read this is no small feat and pays great homage to the author's talents. I look forward to more work from this author. In fact, I have already purchased another copy of this for a friend.

This book throws a few conventions out of the window, yet still manages to pull off a fast paced entertaining read. Because of its word count, the author has to use a lot of telling, summarising and adverbs to set up the characters and plot in a short space of time. There were a few occasions when I wondered why human Sophie was such a superstar among clearly advanced space travelling beings, and why they relied on her to keep them safe. I was also a bit baffled by just how Sopie's mysterious and often quoted 'codes' actually worked to keep the most dangerous criminal in the universe locked up. That said, it was a fun romp through the galaxy in the company of the plucky Agent Sophie Radcliffe.

Don't be deceived by the genre. it's got great, well-drawn characters, not your typical sci-fi. Exciting plot, good twist. A great read on the beach or wrapped up on a cold, winter night. Can' t wait for the next in the series. Haven't laughed or been scared at the same time so much for years. Read it; you won't be disappointed.

This is a gripping read that had me sneakily pulling out my Kindle at my desk so I could find out what was going to happen next. The author has a talent for creating engaging, well developed characters and scenarios which really draw in the reader. Events unfold swiftly and the plot unravelled with an exciting pace which kept me drawn in. I literally couldn't put down the book as the tension began to mount. Well written with solid characters and a good plot. Looking forward to more from the author.

Intergalactic Agent Sophie Radcliffe is an expletive spewing Texan with an ability to track down and capture the most vile villains in the galaxy. Furthermore, Radcliffe is brilliant and famous for creating codes that are impossible to crack which are used to incarcerate the dastardly criminals. That is, until the most evil alien that ever lived, apparently does just that, and escapes from his high security prison cell bent on ruling the entire galaxy...Oh, and destroying Agent Radcliffe, too.

Zenzoris Returns is a real page turned filled with all manner of delightful and imaginative aliens, good and bad. It is a true Sci-Fi adventure with an unexpected surprise at the end. You simply won't want to miss this gem of a tale whether you are a fan of the genre or not.

I really enjoyed Sophie Radcliffe. This was a fast-moving, fun and exciting read. I don't do sci-fi as a rule, but Sophie is an attractive and spunky character and the story is well crafted. My only complaints are a) it was too short and I finished it too quickly! I would have loved more, and b) I had the feeling I was reading a sequel to a prequel. I have since found that there isn't - a prequel, that is, but I reckon Jenny Burnley should write one :-) I think that would be a hit too! The Sophie Radcliffe stories should go down a storm with 21st century Star Wars fans, and I can honestly say I'll be reading the next one when it comes out. This feels like the start of a great series.

Although I’m not generally a sci-fi fan, I really enjoyed Zenzoris Returns. The story zips along at a breakneck pace with some neat twists along the way. I also loved the feisty heroine Sophie Radcliffe. Be aware that this is very short – you will finish it in one sitting, especially as it’s so exciting. Also, as other reviewers have pointed out, it appears at first that this is a sequel to another story – sadly I discovered it wasn’t. But all in all, an easy, enjoyable read and I hope that Sophie will be starring in a full-length novel before too long!
