The filter inside the dust cup is a paper washable dust buster type filter that will also clog fairly quickly. Although the filter cup is washable, Zanussi don't stock a spare one with the machine to enable you to use the filter whilst the old one dries out - and we had to wait 24 hours until the filter was bone dry before it could be dropped back in. One aspect I do appreciate is that Zanussi have incorporated a scraper at the back of the main bin, which allows you to scrape the paper filter clean once it has been removed from the body.Read more ›
I have had the product for a month and am very pleased with what is is designed for, ie, it is not in competition with its big brothers'which beats as it sweeps etc.
One of its main advantages is its weight (When my wife says, "its light" it is !) For skirmishing carpets, kitchen floors etc it is excellent. Unlike a dustbuster being mains operated it does not suffer from re-charging batteries running down in minutes plus it covers a larger floor area very efficiently.
The owners guide, once you have read/glanced at/ or skipped through the mandatory 3 pages on health and safety the instructions are clear and concise. it is simple to assemble and can be ready for use in minutes. The dust cup (ie, filter) unlike a Ewbank cleaner is easy to fit and clean. I recommend it.
I have laminate flororing & lino on the ground floor of my house as I have a very messy toddler.
For both those surfaces it is a brilliant little hoover.
It picks up crumbs very well although the suction is not particularly strong.
It has a hole in the top of the handle which I have threaded some string through & I hang it up on the coat rack in the hall.
It is very light.
The cord is long enough for me too do my living room & hall from the same socket.
As there are no tools, you need another hoover to get between sofa cushions & it wouldn't be good for carpets if it was your only hoover as it's essentially a powered dustpan & brush.
I run it over the lino in the kitchen before washing the floor & I'm happy with the results.
It has no brushes on the bottom, just tiny wheels so it 'glides' along the floor nicely & you don't need to buy hoover bags for it so it's a low maintenance piece of kit.
I bring my 'big' hoover down a couple of times a week to do the soft furnishing stuff, but for everyday quick runarounds this is brilliant.
Where I'd suggest it's lacking is that there's no extra plastic nozzle for doing skirting board edges and corners, and that is annoying. Also once you've attached the handle on removing the product from the box, it isn't collapsible, so what could be incredibly compact when not in use is still the size of a broom. The build quality of the handle feels a bit cheap, and when you wind the cord up afterwards you're left with half of it dangling wildly.
But overall I'd say this is a good little product and great value.
