After the initial installation of the unit, all seemed good, temps where running on idle between 22-25 degrees cent on an i7 3,5Ghz, overclocking to 4.4GHZ running at 45 degrees on load also it 'was' very quite... It was what appeared to be a good buy.... Well unfortunately It wasn't to last after about 4 hours of running the idle temps started hitting 35 degrees even though the ambient room temp remained constant, this was followed by gurgling and the pump making loud cavitating sounds... air bubbles in a closed sealed unit... Every youtube vid Ive seen about people making home cooling systems all say make sure there are no air bubbles in the system and that the liquid is always topped up.
Now after two days the idle temp starts at 34-35 degs and rises to 50 degrees on load. The sound has got progressively worse, similar to a toilet cistern that's constantly filling up, an annoying trickling sound...noisy fans i can live with that, water sounds that have nothing to do with rivers, a stream, the sea... nah... really not the most desirable sound to hear inside your computer as you constantly keep wanting to check to see if its leaking... even though it probably isn't. I guess they skimped on the cooling fluid to make themselves a few extra bucks. Obviously another company that chooses to lets its customers do their quality control at the customers expense ie: I guess ill have to fork out another 7 quid to return the thing to amazon....

One things for sure I wont be buying another Zalman product in a hurry after all all they had to do was assemble the things. As Asetek is licensing its technology on these things and everyone else just sells them with their name on it... Or maybe Amazon just gets all the seconds......

Its cooling power is good, I'll give it that. Used in conjuction with a Noctua fan and some good thermal compound, my CPU (AMD 6300) temps have yet to go above 35 degrees even under heavy load. Idle temps are very low indeed. It cools on the same level as the best air fans, although it's very pricey for what it is. So why not buy a top quality air cooler instead? Well, this takes up very little space on the motherboard, with the radiator mounting on the case. That's the main reason I went with a water cooler.

However... it has severe drawbacks.

installation was a pain. fitting the pump's mounting unit together was an excercise in extreme frustration and the instructiosn were rubbish.

Now let's get on to the noise. I knew it wouldn't be silent. But this pump is loud, really loud. It sounds like a server room inside an aquarium, a loud ever present humming. And that isn't the worst of it. There's also a buzzing coming from the pump block. You can hear it clearly from a few metres away. Ever heard the electric buzz from a blown floodlight? It's just like that.

I was gonna give this 3 stars but having contacted Zalman about the buzzing issue and receiving absolutely no response, I'm knocking a star off.

Great little cooler. I had a H60 cooler but it started to show signs of leaking. I opted for this cooler as its nearly half the price and thicker. Fitted it easily enough without any problems.

I wasn't concerned about the fan that comes with the kit because my plan was to use 2x 120mm Delta PWM fans which work brilliantly. Temperature readings are excellent. One thing i will say is that the standard thermal paste doesn't cover the entire face of my 8150fx processor. This means it doesn't cool as well as it could. I ended up cleaning it all up and using some Akasa thermal paste ensuring the whole CPU is covered. Reduced temperatures significantly.

much better than the standard cooler provided by the cpu retail product.
better than non liquid cooler cpu.
more quiter than other non maintenance liquid cpu cooler
happy with my cpu temperature ranging from 28-42 non OC setting.

only downside for me is it only got one fan.
on my experience, having 2 fan set up produce a much cooler effect for the CPU.
and yup expect some noise when it is on turbo set up so it is not really than 100 quiet but atleast to the bearable non irritating level.

Packaging was very good, solid and well protected. Once I figured out what the instructions were trying to tell me (wish they would give different sockets different instructions, however basic) it was straight forward, Radiator is bulky, deep. Nothing bent or damaged.
It keeps my FX 8320 @ 4ghz at a max of about 50° playing Crysis 3, idle is about 30°.
I have 2 cooler master fans in the front of the case on quiet and its fan doesn't produce noise over the top of them, no noise at all from pump. It can be used in a push pull if needs be, long screws in the box.

I'm only 1 week in so will update in a month..

I am using this with an Intel CPU and fitting was very strait forward. Plenty of room for overclocking and the fan included is almost silent... The LED illuminated pump makes for a very nice looking piece of kit

For the price I would highly recommend this cooler for both Intel and AMD users.
