** EDIT 20 Nov 13 **
I'm still very happy with this phone, it's a real pleasure to use and it looks great. One HUGE tip though:
USE THE ORIGINAL MAINS CHARGER THAT IT COMES WITH! I originally used my old Samsung charger and it didn't really like it and I think it effected the battery performance. I used a replacement battery and it charges well, VERY fast by mains and ok by USB. There's still a few battery issues, the 1st 10% and last 15% goes down very quickly. Hopefully an OTA update will make this better.
The phone itself seems to be a good phone. I've always had Androids but I decided to take the risk on a Chinese phone, this one being at the higher end. I've tried cheaper Chinese phones but have always been left disappointed, this phone is sleek, looks and works great. I haven't tried out all the features yet but so far I'm impressed. Be careful though, it does feel like at some point it'll be easily dropped.
The screen looks great but not as good as Samsungs Amoled screen but the ZOPO is FHD and looks great! If you're going for a high spec Chinese phone then I think this one is a good choice. You may get some strange looks when you mention you have a ZOPO phone but the phone itself should impress doubters.
The camera seems good but it's not all about megapixels. I've taken max resolution photos but at 100% on a computer the image isn't that sharp. Video also seems good and it can record 1080p videos.
It also came with a screen protector on which is quite nice. There weren't any added bonuses though, no free flip case or spare battery but they would have been a bonus anyway.
The battery also seems a bit on the small side, time will tell how it lasts throughout the day. It does seem to run low quite quickly, especially on demanding apps.
Setting it up was easy, wireless seems very good and it picked up my 3G connection (T-Mobile/EE) without any problems. It's also fine on o2. Having 2 sim slots is a great feature. I'm currently using THREE and it's proved to be great, I don't know if it lacking the 900 WCDMA frequency may effect some UK networks receptions though.
A couple of 3D games seem slow though, I think it's because of the high resolution. The screen has a refresh rate of about 51 frames/sec so don't expect any frame rates higher than that.
OTA updates are a nice feature.
Netflix, Plex, BBC, TV Catchup, Youtube all work great and the phone is free from any Chinese bloatware.
So far, so good. I'm impressed with the phone and I think it looks great. Some Aluminium would have been nice but it's no more plasticy then a Samsung. It feels and looks better in my opinion.
The specifications are great and benchmarks are almost on par with a S3. I've put in my 32gb SD card so I've got about 60gb to play with... more than enough for thousands of mp3s. You could always add an extra 64gb if you need more!
I suppose it all comes down to if you'll be happy with a ZOPO phone as opposed to a Samsung S3 or iPhone 4s. The ZOPO will save you a bit of money but I can see why some people will take the safer option of getting a S3 for a little more money but with the ZOPO you are getting the latest model as opposed to an older Samsung. I have no problem saying I have a ZOPO, I like to be different and this phone should make the Chinese phone skeptics think twice.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the really annoying boot-up screen with really loud music! You'll need to root the phone to get rid of it. I found a worry-free way of doing it and I've now got rid of that super-loud music!
On a side note I recommend the Yandex Shell. I don't normally like different launchers but this one is really nice, and it's free. Hmm, a Chinese phone with a Russian launcher! All's good though.
This phone does all that is promised. The screen is truly stunning.
There is one socket each for the standard sized and mini SIMS. Both sockets can take a SIM with two different networks. This feature works well and is fully supported in Android's system, allowing the user to select a preferred SIM per contact, etc.
While I did not benchmark the CPU, the use and feel of the phone is noticeably faster than other Android phones I have previously used. Everything is just fluid in the use of the apps.
The English language version of this is installed and working - I state this as it is not always the case with phones originating in the Far East.
A handy flip-over case (which replaces the back of the phone) was included in my pack, as was a screen guard protective film.

Certainly - if you want a fast, clear Android phone and have the few quid extra that this phone costs - go for it!
The chinese branded phones were becoming readily available in the UK with short delivery times of say 2-3 days. I saw ZOPO ZP980 on Amazon and decided to buy it. This phone is targeted towards the high end market. It looks sleek and stylish. The screen is FHD, 1980 x 1080P. Dual camera, front camera 5.0MP, back camera 13.0MP with flashlight and auto focus.
It's a great looking phone, well worth the money.
Just, don't expect blazing 3D gaming, as the GPU is a little anaemic. But that's not a problem, as I use my PS Vita when I'm out and about.
That's it. Now, go and get one! :^)
