Product Description

Colour Name:C3 dark blue

This 12-hole Ocarina C3 made from plastic stands out because of its remarkably clear sound. The ocarina is suitable for both beginners and professional musicians alike. It is an alto ocarina of medium size. Its pitch range of more than 1,5 octaves (a'-f'''; A4-F6; one octave lower than the SC1 model) makes it an adequate companion for professional musicians for almost any kind of music. Fingering symbols (specially designed for the 12-hole ocarina) make it possible to learn playing the instrument on your own. A solid cardboard box protects the instrument. A short introduction and fingering chart will help you to teach yourself the instrument. IMPORTANT NOTICE from the manufacturer Focalink: Some people say that the ocarina has scratches, but in fact these "scratches" are traces of the manufacturing process. They are caused by the effusion of the hot air from within the moulding tool. They are a technical necessity - without these traces the ocarinas could not be made. Focalink instead focuses on the sound quality by making the walls of the ocarina-body thicker. This means that the manufacturing process takes longer and the traces become even more pronounced. Thus these traces become a marker for sound quality. The question is: Is it its outward appearance or the richness of its sound which makes the musical instrument? Focalink thinks, "if it helps to make your music more beautiful, these traces are nothing."

as well as a very sturdy build, this plastic ocarina sounds beautiful (its not as good as ceramic ocarinas but certainly worth it for 17 of your fine English pounds.)The product pictures seem to make the ocarina look smaller than it is, meaning it may look harder to play but it fits well in the hands.the link prvided below shows the original product page containing two videos of the instrument being played. as well a nice instrument, the ocarina is a nice collectors item to have if (like me) you love the Legend of Zelda series. the box is rather pretty in the fact it bears some nice art of Link, Saria and the Deku Sprout. it also contains a small spelling mistake on the front, but nothing to really worry about. all in all a nice sounding instrument and a fancy collectors item. there are better ocarinas but this is probably the best plastic you will find, and worth it instead of paying out 60 odd quid for a ceramic type.

This Ocarina comes in a very tidy, and well designed box. Though the words "Zelda edition" are miss-spelt as "Zlda Edition", it doesnt cover up the fact the box art is beautiful.

The ocarina itself does not have the best Ocarina sound quality, but still has a good enough sound for beginners (like myself), and is well worth the price. It also includes a lovely little strap to wear around your neck. The only issue is the instructions come in German, so you might have to rely on an online tutorial.

Reguardless, I think it is worth buying for beginners.

This is a very nice, high quality ocarina. However, the product description is misleading - it says 'The Zelda Songbook and the CD show you how to play the Zelda songs'. But no songbook or CD is included, just a very simple fingering chart and a few hymns.

The product was poorly tuned and produced a most ear-shattering, high pitched squeal when played. The fingering holes seemed to be misplaced and it was hard to play an accurate note. The name 'Zelda' was what got my attention at the first place, but the product had nothing to relate to the Zelda series, no decoration, no Zelda song-sheets. just a simple fingering chart. Very disappointed, be careful when you see any ocarinas claiming to be related to 'Zelda'.

I've always been a fan of the Zelda series, and as a flute-player I've been desperate to own the beautiful ocarina featured in The Ocarina of Time. This ocarina is the perfect ocarina for a beginner - easy to play and cheap. It's made out of plastic, which means the sound quality is not the best, but it still sounds very nice. The instructions that come with the [very pretty] box are a bit vague, so I suggest that you go on YouTube for some tutorials if you decisde to purchase this ocarina.

I bought this ocarina for my son's birthday and was excited to open it up. It's plastic and makes the kind of noise you would expect from a plastic instrument. The song book wasn't great and not child-friendly in my opinion. I've since bought a more expensive one and it's true you get what you pay for. £20 more and I've got a beautiful ocarina and brilliant song book. I would highly recommend getting a slightly more expensive one. I would say this one is good for a child up to the age of about 5.. but older than that and with supervision they can play the 'breakable' one which comes with a much better songbook full of Zelda songs.
