This is a great book for anyone with some experience of ZBrush but even if you are a beginner, Paul Gaboury explains things in such a clear and accessible way that I doubt you'll have much trouble following along. It is chock full of tips and tricks that will make creating art with ZBrush more enjoyable and rewarding. I found the chapter on how to get the best out of ZBrush's powerful BPR render system particularly useful. And the tips from the ZBrush professionals are truly inspiring, not just for their usefulness but also for the great art these artists use to demonstrate their methods. (A note if you are thinking of getting the Kindle version - the DVD content can be downloaded from the publishers website.) Recommended.

What a fail. The instructions are wrong!! Vague, rushed.......... its like the author wrote the instructions here after playing Chinese whispers and never used the software. Trust me don't bother. I've tried 4 of the topics and each time, zbrush doesn't do what the instructions say. Either a critical step is missing which you have to fumble about to work out yourself, or the method is defunct as there are other simpler ways to do something. If you want to learn some proper zbrush go to an online learning site. This software is hard enough without inexperienced authors like this try to teach you something which is bad practice. There are much better resources out there....

Initially I flicked through this book and thought it wasn't what I was after as someone relatively new to Zbrush and the book did not show you how to make the skates on the cover. But 3 months later I have ended up studying every single page and my Zbrush knowledge has improved considerably. Each chapter covers a different key aspect of Zbrush and it gives you a great understanding of what Zbrush can do and what you can do in Zbrush. I would rate this as one of the best Zbrush books.
