Melodic, outrageous ... and often just plain silly. The Goodies were just as good on record (33.33333 RPM LPs) as they were on the telly.
This is a must have for anyone who remembers Kitten Kong, the giant Dougal or those singing dogs (who appear to provide backing on at least one track).
Fast forward a few decades. A glum bloke in his 30's is idly surfing the web, bored out of his tree by the misery and banality of adult life. A distant memory of a three seater bike and giant cats is stirred by a stray glimpse of Michael Aspel, and he thinks `I wonder if there is any thing by the Goodies in this here Amazon music store?' A few clicks of a mouse later and I was on this page, another few clicks and a couple of days impatient waiting and I was the proud owner of one of the best shiny round objects it has ever been my privilege to own.
Collecting 20 tracks recorded by the Goodies in their heyday, this is still as funny today as it was back then. In fact, funnier, as I now `get' the more adult jokes as well as the silliness I enjoyed as a kid. Even if it weren't for the waves of nostalgia threatening to drown me, I would still enjoy this record of classic comedy.
