I read an advancecopy of this book and really enjoyed it - it is written very well and completely without the usual pretension you expect from wine writing. Above all it focusses on the pleasure of drinking wine in moderation, that all tastes are subjective, and that most of the rules and customs around wine are made to be broken!
Especially enjoyed the sections on how wine is actually made such as how rose differs from red, and the sections on corks and packaging which made complete sense and which I was ignorant of before.
And the fact that 100% of revenue is going directly to projects in Sierra Leone makes it taste even better!
I received an advancecopy of this book and was very interested given that my husband and I both work in the wine trade. I found it very readable and informative, and a lot less dry than some wine books can be. I would recommend it to any wine drinker (or potential wine drinker). I also think it is fantastic that 100% of the revenue will go to building schools in Sierra Leone.
I received an advancecopy of this great book and was taken with it straight away. It’s easy to read (bite-size chapters), really informative, packed full of interesting wine-facts and has taught me all kinds of things I didn’t already know about wine. On top of this it’s given me some great tips about buying and storing wine.
I received an advancedcopy last week. I really enjoyed reading it and I think it's a brilliant book to read if you know less about wine than the average wine merchant. Great that 100% of all revenue goes towards building schools in Sierra Leone!
