About the Author
Kim and I are both based in the UK, but Kim spent a number of years in New York working in one of the world’s largest cosmetics companies. Most books on this subject were written for an American audience, and their customers have very different buying habits and triggers from those on our side of the pond. Kim’s extensive commercial, technical and marketing skills were developed in internationally based business-to-business and FMCG environments, mainly in pharmaceuticals, biotech, chemicals, personal care and food – all highly regulated areas. On her return to the UK, Kim helped businesses in many different areas of operation – from sole traders to large organisations. As you’ll have seen in the course of reading this book, she has considerable experience with early stage start-ups, and has driven three loss-making ventures back into profit as well as sustaining their business growth. In the last few years she has built an enviable reputation as a specialist in online marketing (including social media, websites, ebooks and ezines, and blogs). My own background started as a fully qualified graphic designer, with a first class honours degree in Design Technology and Sociology and a post-graduate Diploma in Marketing. I designed packaging and branding for some major high street names. As I climbed the corporate ladder my work with these big retailers took me all over the UK, and into France and Germany too. Then, at the age of 31, I decided to start a family, so I retrained and spent 14 happy years teaching Art, Design and Technology. In August 2014 I launched Teather Creative Design, and in due course collected two more diplomas: in Promoting Goods and Services using Social Media, and in Social Media Advertising and Promotion. These days I specialise in grass roots marketing, with a focus on branding and graphic design. Kim and I have both been working and training in these fields for many years, and decided to launch our series of courses in book form so that anyone could benefit from our knowledge - even if they can’t attend one of our face to face courses or workshops. All our books are available to buy from Amazon as well as through a variety of book shops. Also, as experienced training providers, Kim and I are happy to travel to your place of work or training centre and present any of our courses personally to individuals or groups. Please refer to our website for details of how to book us to come to you.
