Product description

Product Description

It's ten years since Kit released her debut album and now she releases her fourth and first electric outing: You Took The Blues. It was produced by Kit and her long-standing collaborator, Al Greenwood and recorded at The Chairworks Studios with the veteran engineer Simon Humphrey. The album was mastered at Abbey Road by Sean Magee, who has previously worked on tracks by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, PIL and U2. You Took The Blues has a stronger blues/soul vibe than Kit s previous releases with a band line-up of: Kit on vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, Al Greenwood on guitar/keys, Pat Illingworth (Corinne Bailey Rae, Jerry Dammers, Dave Stewart) on drums and new-comer Sam Vicary on double bass. Kit's trademark sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing are in evidence throughout with her band creating a dynamic muscular support. The blues-fuelled You Said I Said , You Took the Blues and Sci-fi Blues are interwoven with the soul imbued ballads Short Walk To Heaven and We Shared The Night. The new album features Kit's soulful guitar playing; from the cool wah-wah in That's Why We Need to the funky Thirty Second Street and the final solo acoustic guitar tour de force Breakout Blues .
