At the beginning I though this could be an ideal book to offer to the junior employees of the firm, but after reading the first four chapters I realised that the amount of mistakes and outdated information makes the whole reading counter-productive.
Most importantly the new changes in taxation (capital gain tax, income tax and corporate tax) that came into force on January 1, 2010 are completely passed under silence. Additionally nothing is mentioned about the new VAT rates that will come into force in July 2010. All this information was available before the book was published therefore there are no excuses. Chapter 3 and chapter 4 about buying and selling a property in Spain have an incredible amount of errors.
It's a real pity because there is a great need of a good book about Spanish law in English.
From house buying, to insuring your car, to ensuring your council taxes in order: this book is invaluable
And as the law changes every year, there's an annual update from the same author
Incidentally the author has a Q&A page at the back of the monthly magazine from Banco Sabadell - he really knows what he's talking about
