HASH(0x8c4596a8) out of 5 stars Priceless as a Kindle book 13 Mar. 2012
By JackB - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This books is extremely short -- about 5 minutes if you're a fast reader -- a bit longer if you you read it only during the worst TV commercials. As a free Kindle book, it's priceless. But I'd deduct a star for each dollar or so I had to pay for it.

The author has a sense of humor, though it's not for the saintly variety of mind. I'm not likely to be accused of sainthood, so it just seemed funny to me.

But the few points are pretty much dead on about "self-help" books. Change is hard work, and most people reading self-help books don't have the persistence to follow what mediocre advice is offered. If they attempt to follow it, they discover quickly the world doesn't follow the patterns promised by the anecdotal "evidence" the books are built on.

If you're inclined to pay for self-help books, then this book could save you a lot of money. If you can get free ones, or borrow them, go ahead and read them until you get your fill, and discover what the author states at least implicitly: "You already have what you need as a human being to deal with life, and your time is better spent exploring and developing that capacity in yourself rather than trying to dream someone else's solutions."

After you read the book, look closely at the 5 star reviews and laugh again.

HASH(0x8c45963c) out of 5 stars Funny and Uplifting 31 Dec. 2011
By Thomas A. Grisafi - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
The author's keen application of logic and a healthy dose of humor make this a very uplifting and entertaining self-help book for people who should be searching within and not through the bookstore for answers on how to lead more satisfying and purpose driven lives.
HASH(0x8b61b444) out of 5 stars Interesting Take 31 Mar. 2012
By E. J. Howlett - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This is a clever, entertaining read. The author addresses all the hyped "Dr. Phil" type nonsense that fills the bookshelves of every bookstore in the US. If you find yourself frequently roaming the aisles of bookstores looking for that "one" book that is going to change you life, you may want to give this a read.

This was a very refreshing read. Down to earth and funny! He really makes you look at things differently and in a way that makes you feel at ease...

Highly recommend reading this book.
