I came across the title again whilst choosing some new books to order for my current school and, remembering how popular it was, I added it to the list.
Sadly, this time around it doesn't seem to be anywhere near as popular with the boys. They seemed to enjoy the story when I read it to them, but I've noticed that this copy just doesn't get chosen in the book corner by the boys for their own free choice reading in the same way that it does by the girls. At a guess I would put it down to the ridiculously girly cover on this version. What a shame they decided to change it from the black spacey scene of the original cover that appealed equally to both genders.
The graphics are engaging. The story is entertaining and the composition is top notch.
She has now started reading this to herself and does not tire of the story.
