Comes boxed with all instructions, although you will need a couple of spanners, or a socket wrench in order to put the item together.
Took me about 45 minutes to get it all setup, and then some time to determine where I was going to place it.
The unit is sturdy and well made, it's tall just under ceiling height, so be careful if your in a standard height room that you don't smash your head on the ceiling when doing pull ups.
So far it does exactly what it says on the tin, there is a small amount of frame movement when your using the dip part of the system, but i suppose that to be expected as the unit is not grounded at all.
I am happy with the purchase, the wife is less happy that the dining room now looks like a gym, but hey, Im trying to keep us healthy without spending a fortune in the local gym.
It was delivered quickly and arrived in a compact box so obviously required assembly which I found very easy. The item is well made and all of the parts fitted together easily. I did not rush so it took about an hour using a couple of spanners. Once fully tightened, the tower is solid with only a slight amount of movement in the dip bars when performing the exercises which is only to be expected given it's lightweight design.
My only negative observations are as follows.
Firstly the pull-up bar which sits in cut-outs in the box section in the top of the uprights and is retained by inserting bolts vertically through it. In the absence of any form of spacer; I have been unable to tighten the bar fully as the box section merely distorts. That said, during use any movement is negligible.
Secondly, I am not a big guy but I find that the bar is quite close to the frame so that you occasionally knock against it when performing the exercise .This is no doubt due to the fairly compact overall dimensions and lengthening the frame would require additional support
A similar situation occurs when using the rear handles to perform press ups, your head is right up against the cross bar. Perhaps it is only designed for reverse dips?
I use it regularly so, overall, I consider it a 'value for money' purchase.
I used to use a door pull-up bar but when you use this tower enabling you to do a full chin-up you know and feel the difference. The tower has a convenient cross bar at the base which you can stand on allowing you to do half-chins so that you can build up gradually.
The dip exercise is excellent and there is plenty of room to fit in and perform the exercise - although be very careful to only do partial dips if you are not used to them as you may end up seriously injured in the shoulder.
Abdominal exercises can be performed either using the dip bars with your back against the pad or you can hang from the pull up bar and do leg/knee raises or twists etc.
This is an excellent piece of equipment to progress your training to the next level. It is strong and sturdy - the only downside is the size of it; you cannot constantly take it apart and put it together again so make sure you have the room.
I found this item to be very solid and sturdy when performing exercises, especially considering that I have a 256 Lbs, 6 ft frame. I have been using a green woody resistance band to help me fully extend my pull-ups.
It took roughtly 45 minutes to build and there was no wrenches with it so I had to use my own.
The item is quite high but should fit in most average homes. I currently have it in a large shed with my weights as a home gym.
The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I think that the Pull-up bar could do with being a little further away from the rest of the frame and the centre grip on the pullup bar should be exchanged for something that can't rotate.
All in all, I am very pleased with this item and would recommened it for anyone looking to work on their upper body strenght and abs.
