This is a great product but my previous on had a jack socket such that a separate lead could be used. The problem with this one is that the lead and sealed jack plug is an integral part of the product which means if the lead or plug becomes damaged or develops a fault (they often do in gigs!), the whole pedal has to be replaced or dismantled to have a new lead fitted - which is a complex job. :-(

I own three of these pedals. They are in constant use, studio, rehearsal on the road. The oldest one I own, came with a KX 88 back in 1987. It still works fine. (Sold the KX years ago but kept the pedal ;-) ) I have never had any problems with it. Yamaha have not changed the design at all in that time (25 years)! Why should they!! The only thing to watch for is the wiring of the plug. Yamaha have the pot wiper wired to the ring. This won't work on a Roland keyboard - Roland's configuration is wiper on the tip. It's easy to make up a converter and has never stopped me from using them on Roland gear. In fact my rigs are all Roland and Nord now. These pedals work faultlessly with them. Nice one! :-)

I use this for a guitar expression pedal with Logic Pro 9 and Mainstage 2 via an Apogee Gio guitar interface. works absolutely fine, pretty sturdy pedal.

improvements i'd suggest; removable cable would make it easier to store and transport and I found the sweep extremely large. I'm used to using a dunlop cry baby so this just makes my ankle hurt after a bit. That said i've been using for well over a year, it's been gigged a lot (mostly support slots where you're treated like dirt and barked at to get your kit on and off instantly so no time to be gentle with anything).

On the grounds that it does what it says, is compatible with Gio and has spent the last year being kicked about, slammed in and out of bags, often with the cable getting pinched by the pedal (see suggested improvements), without breaking down on me, I'd say it's well worth the money

This is hands down the best expression pedal you will find. Built extremely solidly from metal and hard wearing plastic and rubber, it has a much more sturdy construction and larger footprint than the Roland EV-5 or M-Audio pedal but it's not as cumbersome as the Boss. It does use a 50k pot, rather than the rather more normal 10k one. This means it's not compatible with some makes of keyboard - check first; you should be fine with Yamaha and I'm using mine with a Kurzweil with just a small wiring modification (instructions searchable online). It has an adjustable angle to suit standing or sitting (or just personal preference) and you can have it so it goes all the way to maximum or stops a little way short with the final bit on a spring - use it for a bit of extra volume when you're playing a solo or whatever. Basically this pedal gives you all the options, is built like a tank and easily fixable in the event that wear and tear should eventually occur. It's for this reason is the preferred pedal for many West End shows and tours.

As you would expect from Yamaha - this is a decent piece of Kit, heavily Rubberised, good feet or stopping it moving on the floor, and a very good surface area - its bigger than my shoe!

The Cable is built in, and their is space under the coil the cable up, and secure it in place for transport. I didn't find any visible adjustment on it, that said, it didn't need it anyway, its smooth in operation, both physically, and from an audio perspective.

Once last thing - its heavy! - All leads to the feeling of quality!

Bought a cheaper pedal but did not like it. I knew I Should have got this one but the normal advertised price even on Ebay was pricey. Found this one, and went for it. The quality and toughtness of it showed why it normally costs so much, it is worth it.
It also does extra things and is adjustable when used with the appropiate Yamaha products. It is worth the 5 stars

I am pleased with this pedal. It's strong and stays still while in use. Taking me a while to learn how to use it properly but not a problem. Fast delivery even though it was free. Typical good service from Amazon.

Came quickly and was well packed. Facing the tyros5 it was plugged in the most right socket of three in the back which is for volume control. It works perfectly and it is used to add volume effects to classics with great results. Fadeouts are easy.
