Came from a Jazz trio from the latest issue of Jazzwise. Natch, it has nothing to do with them not making money from Downloads, or people not wanting to think their vinyl collections will come to nothing, cos they're not really interested and don't want to have to start replacing them. No, it's because vinyl requires some effort - you have to get up to turn it over between sides. I remember the days when you could stack em 6 deep and get 2 hours.
Trying to maintain 700 items in an Amazon basket that only holds 600; trying to juggle 3 or 4 gigs a week up and down the country with familky life, work and limited resources that's effort.
Somebody said to me recently that CDs and downloads are an insult to music. Regrettably, nostalgia for these relics has become an insult to Music.
