It's Wireless, NOT Bluetooth.
I bought a new Xbox One Controller (Model 1708) and this Dongle to connect it to my PC: but the darn thing is wireless, not Bluetooth so my controller can't see it.
This page on Amazon also states that it comes with an extension cable, but it does not. It arrived in a tiny resealable bag not much bigger than the controller, no extension cable and no instruction pamphlet.
THE AMAZON PAGE FOR THIS DONGLE SHOULD STATE THAT IT DOES NOT WORK WITH MODEL 1708 CONTROLLERS!!!

This is actually a counterfeit item, I didn’t think such things existed but as soon as I received it something seemed off. The box was in very poor condition and did not carry the Microsoft branded seals present on genuine Xbox accessories. Opening up the item revealed the insert which, to my surprise, had an incorrect font on the Xbox logo. It probably wouldn’t be noticeable to a casual user as it is very similar to the real thing, but the difference is there. What clinched it for me, though, is the QR code on the back of the insert. Above the QR code is written a URL supposedly going to Microsoft’s website, but scanning the QR code doesn’t take you there. It actually opens your App Store and wants to install WeChat; a popular messaging app in China. Do yourself a favour and buy direct from Microsoft, it’s cheaper there too.

The items got stuck in the computer it took 20 minutes of pulling , tugging and wiggling , by which time it had come apart, trying to get it out again . Very disappointed as , it's price point and advert suggested it was the genuine article. Very much doubt it was as the QR code didn't work either. I'm loosing faith in buying from Amazon as this kind of thing seems to be coming more common.

I wanted to use an X-Box controller with my Windows 10 PC. A few months ago, I bough a cheap wireless USB dongle that was supposed to do the job. Long story short, it didn't. So, I finally decided to not be such a cheap sod and splash a bit more caseh on the "official" Xbox Wireless Adaptor for Windows 10. So glad I did, it works beautifully, with no problems at all. Only downside is I can no longer blame the adaptor for me losing 11-1 in FIFA 21

Great little adapter for hooking up your XBOX controller with your PC. While this device does not come in retail packaging it is the genuine article and works as expected. So much better than my fist gen. adapter that is a brick by comparison.
I plug this in to the hub on the back of my monitor which means the pairing button faces down, perfect for paring without being able to see it unlike my old adapter which had a small button on the side that I had to press with a thin blade due to it's inaccessibility.
If you like to be up to date and your gadgets as small as you can get them, buy one!

This does exactly what it is supposed to do, it connected up to my computer in just a few seconds, installed and allowed my to connect up my Xbox one controller with no problems at all.
The device can be connected straight into the computer or can be connected up with the supplied wire (which i say is safer as i am less likely to break it with this by accidentally banging into it)
I use this for games with no support for controllers with the use of a program called "Pinnacle Game Profiler", i was also able to test the controller with this to make sure it all the buttons and sticks where working as expected.
Would recommend this product!

Not newer smaller version as advertised in picture, was in a small white box not in the proper packaging, did not come with usb cable as stated and when holding it next to another one which was bought elsewhere seems like a knockoff, what a waste of time

Ok, so my lad wanted to use one of his X Box controllers with his PC.
No problem I thought, then a quick search educated me to the fact I needed one of these.
When it arrives you will probably be underwhelmed. It looks like a USB memory stick aside of the X Box logo and a very small button on the end.
Setup is simple enough. Plug into spare USB port (standard USB 2 port is fine for this) and let Windows do its thing. It will sort it in a few seconds.
Now just hold down the button on the end of the stick for a couple of seconds and a little white light will flash signifying it is in pairing mode.
Press the pairing button on the controller for a couple of seconds and then it is done - easy as that.
It will now just be connected to the PC.
So why only 3 stars?
The price!!
I am sorry, £27 for what is in effect a bluetooth dongle? Come on Microsoft, that is ridiculous!
If it were £10 - £15 I would not have had problem. This is just shameless profiteering and it annoys me.
So, in summary.
Yes it is an excellent device, but just vastly overpriced for what it is.
