Halo was definately one of the best multiplayer console games available, right up until last night (For Americans anyway) when its big brother was released. The sequel improves on the original in many ways, not just with the improved graphics and fluid play but with the addition of online multiplayer. the game plays beatifully, with the only bad points i can see being the abrubt ending and the occasional 'phase in' of the graphics during cut scenes. Loading times have gone completely and once one level had ended, the next will begin right away. Now on to multipayer. You no longer need to set up lan party's or illegal tunneling programs to enjoy multipayer to its full potential. Halo 2 also features an innovative, new xbox live system of rankings and optimatch features, that allow you to always be playing people of the same skill which adds up to a more enjoyable experience overall.
The usual live features such as voice chat, clan options and friend menu's are all present and the netcode of the game does a great job of eliminating both the wait in joining a game and lag when playing. The 12 months of xbox live gives you unlimited access to the service and you could, in effect, leave your xbox on for the whole year on any game, as the yearly fee covers all gaming. Downloadable content such as new levels is often free, but some can be charged at around £3.99. Although the feature is confirmed, its up to bungie whether they charge for it or not. The best point about this pack is that it combines what is arguably the best title on the xbox, with a whole year of online multiplayer all at the price that some people would end up paying for the game alone. I reccomend this to everyone who has ever considered getting live and you wont regret it :)

Halo 2 and Xbox Live - the best combo I have ever heard! I previously had Xbox Live, and I bought Halo 2 the day it came out. Now, i'm not a gaming freak, or at least I wasn't before I got this game!
I still play it nearly everyday today!! The multiplayer is amazing, and the single player isn't as bad as that guy makes it out to be. Weapons on Halo 2 - Amazing. Gametypes on Halo 2 - Incredible. Xbox Live on Halo 2 - UNBELIEVABLE!
The Xbox was built for this game. If you have an xbox console, ad xbox live, you haven't played a proper game yet. The stats system is unlike any agme i have ever seen before. Every game you play gets logged on to bungie.net, and this information is represented by a little number next to your name.
People have said stuff like this about games before, but I am now perfectly serious.
BUY THIS GAME
AND XBOX LIVE
AND POSSIBLY THE HALO 2 HEADSET
BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE BOUGHT THE OTHER HEADSET FIRST
IT COMES WITH THE PART TO HOOK IT UP TO THE CONTROLLER, AND THE OTHER ONES DON'T

Xbox Live is great, I've had live for about 6 months and been able to play online with other real people really improves the life of some games. Not to mention the range of games that are available to play. I'm only going to give 4 stars however because I would still say there are issues with live that need fixing. The servers can be a bit dodgy and especially in larger games your notice lag. This is partially because there is no way to limit xbox live game searches to your 'local area', so you often end up playing Americans. Some games this doesn't matter on (such as PGR2), but you'll find times when it really annoys you (Halo2).
Onto Halo 2, I'll split this into 2 parts, single player disappointing, multiplayer amazing. The single player continues a little while after the first game leaves off (my brother says one of the halo books fills in the gaps) and your on board a large ship with the survivors of halo (I guess it is in the books) and some others. It quickly gets back in the action and is looking good, it then decides to throw you into the boot of an elite (you know one of the bad guys!!!), you want to know about Master Chief and get an elite. One last comment the game doesn't really end, it just sets up for a sequel!!! There is no sense of closure at all unlike the original. However all that aside the multiplayer alone makes this a must get game, just don't expect too much from the single player. I'll give the single player one thing, it's harder than the original game. Dual wielding rocks!!!
