I bought a component cable for my Xbox 360 about a year ago so that I could plug it into my Analogue HD PVR to capture game fottage. Unfortunately it wasn't official, and therefore not gold plated so the picture turned out slightly grainy.

From then on I decided to always buy official Xbox 360 accessories otherwise you simply do not get good quality, This is an official Microsoft Component cable and I can tell you that it is gold plated and transmits a fantastic 1080i signal. A year ago around the time I bought it, the price was around 20 pounds, it has now gone down to under 14 pounds which is very good value for official Microsoft.
Thoroughly recommend it.

This listing is dressed up to look like a brand new Microsoft cable packaged up brand new IT IS'NT.
The cable I received was a genuine Microsoft one but was clearly second hand as came in a green plastic bag and had signs of wear and was dusty.
The cable works fine but I'm non to chuffed with Amazon letting companies dupe buyers with pictures in the listings showing brand new items and second hand used items being sent out.
The price paid was ok for a second hand cable but this needs to be made clear in the listing

THE SELLER JOHN HOUNDED ME TO REMOVE THE FEEDBACK AND GIVE HIM 5 STARS AS "IT WOULD AFFECT HIS BUSINESS" HE ALSO STATED HE WOULD SEND ANOTHER CABLE WHICH I ASSUMED WOULD BE GENUINE-HE WANTED ME TO REMOVE IT BEFORE HE SENT OUT A NEW ONE.OBVIOUSLY I DIDN'T REMOVE IT ON THOSE TERMS SO HE WENT TO AMAZON AND THEY DID AS HE ASKED!!!

As one other reviewer wrote, this only came in a bag not boxed up but it does have the Microsoft hologram. We were having problems connecting the Xbox to a Sony HD TV with an HDMI cable but it was connecting with the normal cable that came with the Xbox but the quality and gameplay were very poor.

This HD Component AV Cable is a very good substitute if you can't use an HDMI cable, my son is very pleased with the quality and says that it is as good as using an HDMI and that he would have no problem recommending it.

I usually buy either a scart or component cable fairly soon after buying a new console as the often bundled composite/euro connector affair is usually rubbish,the component for the original xbox was excellent although on most games the picture wasn't a great deal better than scart,the PS2 however was mostly good,especially for the progressive scan games,but some were awful,WRC,Timesplitters 3 etc seem to have a 'pattern' on them and Broken Sword:TSD was overly sharp,this however is great,I recently bought Perfect Dark Zero and on the euro connector the reds are blurry as is most of the 'boxes/borders',problem solved.good quality cable as well.

I bought this as i bought a TV with only 2 HDMI Ports as it was very good for gaming. And with my PS3 and Sky HD boxe using both HDMI's i needed something for my 360.

This was the answer, hooked this upto my TV from my Xbox 360 Slim and selected 1080p in the console settings and works nicely.

I honestly cannot tell the difference between this and HDMI so don't be worried about using this over HDMI, and i would always go with the official Microsoft cable when it comes to component.

Definitely would recommend.

However after plugging these in, I noticed the picture is a little more vibrant and the picture is less grainy.
