Not much to say here. I wanted a device to hold my iPhone on a tripod. This device holds my iPhone on a tripod. It holds firmly with a rubberised grip, sufficiently firmly that I am likely to use it to hold my iPhone on my quad at some point. The only real issue, if issue it is, is that the rubber handle is loose and can detach if you store it in a camera bag as I do.

I ordered this because i needed something quickly and the Manfrotto i really want wasn't in stock. Although it doesn't say in the advert the size phone it will take (so i took a risk) the packaging says 80mm. My iPhone 6 in its minimalist case measures 72 mm and it only fits if i force it in. It'll do for now but I'm not expecting it to last more than the one trip i want it for. It's a shame because I bought it to go on the excellent XSories selfie-stick i bought last year. So beware it might not fit your phone, though you can't argue at £2.99 even if it is throw away.

T XSories Pholder Smartphone Tripod is perfectly suited to it's one intended (somewhat niche) purpose of securely holding a phone in landscape orientation for mounting on a standard tripod mount. The phone is held securely. If I were nitpicking, I would note that the black rubber tag to assist the user in overcoming the resistance of the springs when inserting the phone has a habit of working loose, but it can be easily repositioned. I have used the mount with an old iPhone and a timelapse photography app.

I should have read all the reviews. I missed a crucial one saying it did not extend as much as claimed. I saw someone said it fitted thier Galaxy S2 ok but mine has a case on it and I really had to squeeze the phone into the holder. It's so tight (max'ed out at 70mm) that I don't think it will last too long keep putting it in and taking it out under that strain. If you have a phone less than 70mm then this holder would be fine.

This product is a lot smaller than expected. It can hold an iphone no problem, but anything bigger there may be problem. Given phone is getting bigger and bigger these days, I don't think this holder is compatible with most phones out there. Also it all seems to be overpriced (£9) for a small clip.
