Well built, long and cheap

I originally bought a very long toslink cable from ebay. Even cheaper than this. It did take a couple of weeks for delivery, but it actually worked very well, and as all a toslink cable has to do is transmit light, I'd say was a good buy too.
That being said, the difference in quality because apparent eventually. Trying to unplug that thin, fragile, flimsy cable resulted in the the connector just falling off, with no excess force of any kind, For a while I thought my TV was ruined as the concocter just wouldn't come out of the TV socket, but after some painstaking tweezer-ing managed to save the telly.

It was then that I realised I wanted a well-made, and rugged toslink cable, that wasn't going to just crumble apart and leave me without audio for a few weeks while I await another delivery.
I decided on XO because of the reviews, and the affordable price, and have to say I am extremely pleased with it.

I've since bought a couple of more of these cables for another room, and one shorter cable for another device, which I decided also to get from XO as I'm very happy with the combination of quality build with cheap price.

Not much that I can add that other reviewers haven't already said, so in practice this is just another 5* rating for the product – but if you’ve got this far, go ahead and purchase this lead. I’ve spent ridiculous money in the past on AV interconnects and this lead is in no way inferior in terms of sound quality or apparent build quality. Very smart cable and the inclusion of some rubber ridges to ease installation is helpful, particularly if the TV is already mounted and space is tight.

Very pleased, back here to buy some more for the rest of the house.

Optical cables are the only type that I don't mind paying that little bit extra for. The problem with the cheapest cables is that the connectors can fail quite badly due to the way an optical cable catches in the port. This cable on the other hand is very robust, the heavy duty connectors and nice thick yet still flexible cable mean it will take a bit of man handling.

The Optic Fibre cable that arrived was as described, plus of a sturdy constructiion with good solid terminals at the end for a good positive location in the port on my AV equipment.
Another positive note about this supplier, a rapid response. I was informed of a standard snail delivery date of 12/05/13. It arrived 08/05/13. That is four days quicker than the original estmate.

Works perfectly well. Good connection, and well made - although there are cheaper ones made just as well. So if you're looking for a quick replacement, this is for you; although if you have a bit of time, it might be worth searching for a cheaper alternative that does the same job.
