However, the fitting on the free side is not compatible with all common UK snap-on 'Hozelock' type fittings. It is possible to get an adaptor for this because the hose ends in the same male screw thread as a garden tap. So you need a 'tap to female Hozelock' type connector, or if this isn't available you can make up one yourself from a combination of available connectors.
The tap end of the Xhose is much more problematic. The fitted connector does screw onto a tap, but it leaks, and sprays water everywhere. Looking carefully at this, you'll see that the leak does not come from the tap washer, but is due to bad design and or manufacture. Getting an adaptor for this won't help - it will still leak. The only possibility is to cut off the fitted tap head connector and using a stepped pipe coupler of exactly the right size, with some hose clamps, to join the Xhose cut end to another standard piece of hose on which you can then fit a decent tap connector. This is possible, but be warned, it's very, very difficult, and not for non-tinkerers. Most purchasers will have to put up with the fitted Xhose tap connector p***ing water all over.
The XHose is a case of a potentially excellent hose ruined by poor quality fittings.
Now,six months later, it developed a split in the outer fabric from which the expandable inner tube bulged out like a great hernia. It swelled up to the size of a small balloon and then exploded, drenching my wife. However, my modified fitting is still good and solid. In conclusion, the X-hose is rubbish and I would recommend searching for an alternative product.
would not but again.

If your water pressure is low, the pipe has difficulties expanding. If it does, as soon as press the trigger the pipe recoils. I had to buy two lengths to compensate. Read morePublished 13 months ago by bilston man
OK to start with, but after using it a few times, it lost some of its elasticity. reverted to my old faithful rubber hose.Published 14 months ago by Norman Plaisted
