A really nice ale from a great range. It has a nice taste, not to "hoppy" for the strength. The only down side about hobgoblin is you can't just have one, because soon as you have one, you will want another and another......

I also reccommend Goliath and Scarcrow by the same brewery.

I absolutely love Hobgoblin, it's my Ale of first resort usually
(unless there's an offer on Old Crafty Hen..)
But as these are usually 99p at your local Lidl

I wouldn't buy on here unless they had the last case on earth
and even then I'd be more tempted to brew my own

Ale 5/5
Price 1/5 (you gouging gits..!)

This is a potent, ruby bitter with a deep richness to it - as you would expect for 5.2%. For me it is too strong to make a session beer, but to kick-off an afternoon watching 'Game of Thrones' it hits the spot. It has good, long-lasting bitterness at the back of the mouth, and you can taste the hops and something like smokey caramel as well. It is a very satisfying drink, but check prices at your supermarket before buying. You may also wish to visit classicales (one word) [dot] co [dot] uk - the trading name of Marston's - to check pricing.

*I bought this as part of the 'Classic Ales' case, which is why it is not 'Verified'.

Ale, according my husband, is still as good as ever, that is one of the really good beers that tastes fine from the bottle. He says that he would recommend it to all lovers of real ale. However, he would rather buy directly from brewery agent in future. No argument with price of product but delivery cost is high unless you are member of prime. This,he considers to be blackmail and I tend to agree. Wonder what trading standards makes of this. Although service from this supplier has always been good. I do NOT want to become a member of prime!!!!
