About the Author

My love for steamy romance began when I was in junior high. A friend and I came upon a dumpster of discarded paperbacks behind our small town's Ben Franklin store. The covers were missing and each book was torn in two, split right down the center of the spline, but I found that to be no obstacle as I scanned each page looking for any love or lust words—and curse words, too. It wasn't long before I was scouring the public library and our local discount store, devouring anything labeled romance. I said a tearfully grateful goodbye to Judy Bloom as Jackie Collins began ruling my world. I live with my high school sweetheart turned husband and our three, beloved DVR's, in the desert Southwest. Otherwise known as the surface of the sun during the summer months. My life long goals are to think before I speak, smile more and swear less, and actually weigh what my driver's license states I do. And I have been contemplating a hair color change for the last decade. I'm thinking red.

Firstly thank you to Jodi for giving me a copy for an honest review.

We first meet Hope Coleson at Sam & Ali's wedding. She is working as a waitress and spots Sam's fellow friends/employees, this is when Beckett Smith catches her eye. After getting asked by him to meet at his room once shes finished her shift, she says to hell with it and they soon get better aquainted. After Beck's quick exit and the appearance of Asher (her brother) *swoon* her day goes from bad to worse. She gets terminated from her waitressing job, then gets evicted from her apartment and then finds out that her savings account has been completely emptied.

Retired Navy SEAL Beckett Smith doesn't make mistakes.
Yes, he drinks his way to the bottom of a beer bottle or six, on one too many occasions.
Sure, he's a well educated man who prefers to communicate at a level only slighter higher than your average poodle.
And yeah, he lost his legendary control and slept with his boss's sister, stripping her of more than just her clothes before making a quick getaway. I felt real sorry for him at times throughout this book and I just wanted to give him a big cuddle (lucky for him he had Hope)

I LOVE HOPE COLESON!!! She has this happy go lucky asttitude towards life and no matter what gets in her way she holds her head up high and carries straight on!

The interaction between her and Beck is so funny at times you cant help but LOL.... They make the perfect couple helping each other to overcome their past demons. I love the part where she punishes him by wearing Ashers ARMY t-shirt.... this was hilarious :D

I dont want to go on to much more and spoil it for readers but I will say this book has a lot of ups and downs (its like a rollercoaster).

HASH(0x9f25de4c) out of 5 stars Strippers, security specialists and stalkers - oh my! 16 May 2015
By Jcbecky - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Amazing writing and such a great story. Hope and Beck are awesome. Both dinged and damaged and both need each other so badly. You want them to find their way together because they both need to belong to someone.

Hope is funny and kind and exactly the heroine you want to read about. Beckett is hot and broody but with a big heart who is carrying around so much. The story flows so well, right from the start you are hooked.

What sets this story apart from so many is the incredible writing. So intelligent, so funny, so creative. The characters are so clearly written.

Put your feet up and enjoy. This is what romance is supposed to be like!

HASH(0x9f25e150) out of 5 stars Enjoying this series 25 May 2015

Well Done and kudos to the author. This is the second book in this series and she has done it again.
I absolutely adored Hope's character. I loved her glass half full personality, her ability to "brush it off", not become a doormat but also not a ball buster. Those people make great friends in real life and you can't help rooting for them. You gave me that in words, so again big kudos because you were consistent in her characterization. Loved the ARMY shirt punishment.

Now Beckett is the consummate alpha male: Ex Navy SEAL, suffering with PTSD, troubled Hero, and can't accept help. Hope knocks him on his a$$ and he doesn't even realize it.
The focus of this book was definitely Beckett and Hope (individually and as a couple) so we didn't get tons of interaction with the rest of the team except one but if you read the book you'll know why. I loved that I wasn't distracted with keeping track of too many secondary characters.

This book is steamy which I love, hits you in the feels, so grab your tissues and your Pom poms and enjoy.

Can be read as a standalone, however book one is equally awesome so I'd recommend both.

Really enjoyed this novel. This was the first time I read a novel from this author, but it won't be my last. I received a copy for an honest review, I really enjoyed this novel. The characters were great. The story grabbed me and did not let me go. But I have to say I loved the banter and the dialogue in the novel. Loved the heroine she was strong and funny as hell. I am definitely going to be following this author and read her other novel.

HASH(0x9f2636fc) out of 5 stars Great book! 4 Sept. 2015
By Melissa Mendoza with Alpha Book Club - Published on Amazon.com

“His heated gaze raked over her pink tipped breasts-quite possibly the best set he’d ever laid eyes, hands, or mouth on-down past her flat stomach to the V of her thighs.”

4 stars. This book was a roller coaster ride of emotions from beginning to end. I loved this book so much!

Hope Coleson is having a doozy of a day.
Wrongly terminated from her menial waitressing job? Check
Abruptly evicted from her run down apartment with prime views of the graffiti painted dumpster? Double check.
Thoroughly bedded by a smoking hot man with smooth moves and zero communication skills? Triple X check.
And it doesn't end there. Estranged family members are showing up like bad pennies, her precious savings account has been wiped clean, and she may or may not have a stalker.
So what's a desperate girl to do, but try her hand at love?

Retired Navy SEAL Beckett Smith doesn't make mistakes.
Yes, he drinks his way to the bottom of a beer bottle or six, on one too many occasions.
Sure, he's a well educated man who prefers to communicate at a level only slighter higher than your average poodle.
And yeah, he lost his legendary control and slept with his boss's sister, stripping her of more than just her clothes before making a quick getaway.
Only it doesn't end there. Isolation isn't providing the peace he's seeking, the boss he considers a friend is ready to hand him a beat down and a pink slip, and the girl he can't stop thinking about is suddenly parked on his doorstep.
So what's a jaded guy to do, but take a chance on love?

Hope is waitressing at a wedding amazed by all the hot guys that happen to be there. There’s one that catches her eye by the name of Beckett. He makes her an offer to come to his room for a night of passion, she of course says yes. But after their night together she awakes to find that he’s gone. Just when she thinks she’s already having a bad day, she looses her job, her apartment and finds out her savings has been completely wiped out. Beckett is a retired Navy Seal, who like most finds himself drinking himself silly. And yes he made the mistake of sleeping with Hope and breaking her heart. Their interactions throughout this book was hilarious and so fun!! I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end!! You must read!
