About the Author

y name is David P Perlmutter and I have a story to tell based on true events. There are moments in the story that I'm not proud of but also there are some that I am. You will have your own opinion of me, like some of the reviewers have stated in their reviews.

What a nightmare fo David, an apt title. Well done for sharing this brilliant true story. It goes to show that anything, anywhere can happen to anyone and although much of it was because David had made the wrong choices he has earned his second chance at making the most of his life. It could have all gone badly wrong had he he stayed in Marbella. One place I will not be visiting! Easy reading, unable to put this book down until the end in just 3x days.

Oh my! What a fabulous book. I absolutely loved this story and especially as it is based on the author's real life experience. I was captivated and fully engaged from page 1. I know it's become a rather cliche thing to say in reviews but I genuinely could not put the book down and it was read in just over 4 hours. What struck me after I'd read it was how the author must always be looking over his shoulder and how must it feel to be a 'wanted' man? I consider the author to be so very brave to publish this novel. I understand why he felt compelled to do so and I'm full of admiration for him. It is written very well and is a definite page turner. If you love real life novels, this should be on your list of 'must reads'!

If this book has anything more than a fleeting connection with reality I will be amazed. He certainly is quick to blame everybody but himself for the situations he finds himself in. From the start, when done for driving under the influence of drink and drugs, he tries to excuse himself by claiming it was a momentary error. Unfortunately these moments seem to occupy most of his life.
Then Mr Superhero risks life and limb climbing 30 feet up the drainpipe of a burning building to rescue a damsel in distress. This after consuming beer and champagne all night at a party! Not content with one piece of heroism he then runs into said burning building, avoiding police and other emergency services, to try to rescue anybody else he can find. What he accidentally finds and then pockets are cash and credit cards. Once out of the building he has enough about him to hide the cash "because it's heavy" but 'forgets' to do the same with the credit cards.
If I seem to be giving too much of the story line away I make no apology as, if I can stop just one person wasting their money on this drivel I will be happy.

I read this thinking from the reviews it would be a gripping true tale of one mans struggle. But in reality if you enjoy reading about selfishness, ego and pride then this is the book for you. I felt angry reading it as the writer wanted the reader to feel sorry for him, i did not. His actions were selfish, his behaviour stupid and his actions ridiculous. I find it hard to believe that he was on a mission to be a hero, it would seem that he was really there to pocket money and credit cards from those who were caught in in a tragedy by chance.

Hannibal Smith of "A-Team" fame was wont to say "I love it when a plan comes together." But what about when a plan comes apart? I had planned to spend three days reading David Perlmutter's book but got so engrossed that I finished it at one sitting. Problem was, I had chores to do and my wife hasn't yet forgiven me. Why one sitting? Well, because Wrong Place Wrong Time is so damn good. It ain't James Joyce - but then what is, apart from James Joyce?

David Perlmutter tells a true horror story that could well have been called David's Inferno. For someone who claims not to be an author he has produced a flawed, brilliant, raw account of a series of nightmares that he largely brought on himself. The element of tragedy is almost present because in theatrical tragedy the central character is in many ways responsible for his own downfall. But Perlmutter has come out the other end - chastened, wiser and better - to tell us an enduring morality tale which is in fact true. It is an account which must be read to be believed. And believe it I do.

Wow! What a great story! A very heartfelt and gripping book!

Its the fact that truth is often more bizarre than fiction and the author explains that point perfectly! "Wrong Place Wrong Time" was a very pleasant surprise. The plot is amazing and it did not disappoint me at all! The author's style of extremely vivid descriptions forced me empathize and brought me right into the story as if I were there myself.

Nevertheless I believe the written expression in this book will catch everyone's attention, fantastic descriptions, it's a true story that consists of a young Brit who finds himself on the wrong side of the law in Spain.

The story begins from England with David, a real estate agent, and one day he stops at the pub on his way home with his old buddy Michael. They went to a restaurant to eat, ran into a couple of young attractive girls. And all the events hereafter is the start of David journey that became with wonderful book.

I began reading it late at night with an intention of reading only a few chapters but the book didn't let me to put it down. The story was really enjoyable and David P. Perlmutter has a unique and engaging style of writing. Even in his non-fiction books.

Wrong Place Wrong Time.

WOW You want reality in a book? This is the book for you.
Starting off with a change of job from being a real estate agent who lost his job, car and everything that wet with it, including the money.
A change of life was called for and started as a light hearted ‘wander’ into Marbella, sea, sand and sex being the only thing to worry about. It is a down right gritty autobiographical account of making some wrong choices in a different country.
Its fast, its gut wrenching and almost makes you puke at the though of what he went through.
The lies he had to endure the betrayal and violence he had to just manage through were appalling along with some of the conditions he had to live in.
Knowing he had the love and help of his family was the only thing that kept him going, a lot of us don’t have that.
“it’s only a mirror”
This might be a guy just telling his story but to be able to recall as much detail as he has in this book, it must be burnt into his mind for him to remember it as clearly and concisely as this.
Thank you for sharing this bold, scary part of your life.
Your mum was right you brought shame on her family but you went through more punishment than they would have ever given you. :)
