I have read all of the Tim Simpson books by author John Malcolm and have never found any of them wanting.original story lines, great british settings, above all Mr Malcolm informs the reader about the art world.sometimes paintings other times furniture.my favourite has to be Rogues Gallery introducing the antiquarian book seller with a gambling habit!.looking through library bookshelves nowadays its very hard to find this kind of well written, sensible book, new writers seem to have no plot to speak of add killing after killing plus the usual pages of rampant sex for no good reason. There is one fine irish writer Benjamin Black, who is on a par right now with John Malcolm
