This is an easy to use flip book with suggestions for alternative words, to replace over used words in essays. It also suggests different places, feelings, activities, animals, people, weather, smells, objects etc that your child could use in an essay if they are stuck for ideas. Perfect for ages 8 to 12. Well laid out in categories (rather than alphabetically) with a handful of illustratiions to make it appealing to your child to use. It is colourful, with easy to read largish print and a great choice of suggestions and words. My 10 year old year 5 daughter used it for the first time tonight, and her essay was thrilling instead of merely functional. Instead of said and replied, the characters shouted, screamd, sighed and whispered parts of their conversations. It brought the essay to life. Will her teacher believe she managed to do the work by herself? Yes - if I send in this wonderful little book, they will understand the big difference. She herself is thrilled and can't wait to do another essay.

Bought this to help my daughters (11 and 9) with their literacy homework. Their writing has been transformed, the ideas are great and their stories full of exciting words and such depth for their age. Really recommend this.

This flip chart was very good, clear and helpful. The only drawback was the size of the item it would have been nice a touch bigger.
But would still recommened for primary children

Very good and the kids like and benefit from using it but I thought a bit pricy for what you actually get, at a lower price I would have given it 5*s.
