Top customer reviews
How to create believable characters, convincing dialogue, suspense, and an interesting twist in the plot are explained. The book also provides tips on more practical aspects of writing such as grammar, editing and marketing which are invaluable. From the wonderful cover design, to the inspiring `last words', it is already a well-thumbed addition to my bookshelves.
This book explains the craft of writing in easy to digest chapters full of useful examples and exercises. It shows that, `if you get the nuts and bolts right then everything else fits into place around them'. There is even a comprehensive chapter on grammar which is invaluable for a writer who does not have the background of an English degree and a reminder for those who do. This book covers what is needed to write good short stories or a novel length book but above all it is FUN and a JOY to read.
